Real Love Series: {a pause & call to action}

I can’t believe it’s almost May!

I feel like I’ve blinked once this year and found myself surprised by the bright green leaves and blossoms of spring well underway. I should know just by the sound of Ben’s sniffing from allergies that it is spring however… :)

My boys are getting so big and tonight I told Bug that he’d be a good daddy someday and had the weirdest feeling that I’ll be holding his child in what feels like seconds later. I took some time to video them tonight as they played in a bubble bath. I want to remember this time and they way their voices sounded.

I thought about this Real Love Series and know that I need to remember Ben and I’s story for my kids some day, so they know what we have gone through, our struggles and pain and how we still choose to stick it out. How much we loved each other because in the stress of life, we haven’t always show it the way we should. I want to write it all, the beauty, the pain and the glory of seeing God moving in our lives.

I can’t wait for my grandbabies to read our love story!  I asked my Grandma to share with me her and my Granddaddy’s story when we were there the last time and felt my heart pounding when my Granddaddy looked over at my Grandma and told her she was the only woman he’d ever loved. Goosebumps. I want more of their story, I’m thirsty for it.

But I’ve realized that more than for my kids and grandkids, as important as it is, I realized that I need to write my love story for ME.

I need to remember why I fell in love. I need to remember the butterflies and first kisses, the way it felt to hold hands for the first time and what it was about him that made me love him.

I’m looking for submissions for the summer, stories of heartache, pain, fluttering heart beats, anger and the heat of passion that true love has. I’d love it if you wanted to share yours with me but more importantly, take the time to write down your love story for YOU. You won’t regret it.

Stay tuned for Alicia’s next chapter in her story coming next Monday.
