My Happy Little Things

Amber said we should blog about what is happy in our lives too, so I’ve decided to copy her idea. I wish I had pics to go with this, perhaps next time.

-the margin in the handout is perfect today. This makes me happy. It is folding so neatly and I can’t remember the last time it was like this.

-left over sausage rolls from men’s fraternity. I love these and know it’ll be a good day when Brian tells me there is leftover food.

-my wonderful steve madden boots that were hand-me-downs from my sister when she moved to Florida. They are so comfie and cuter than uggs and did I mention FREE?! (I’m sad to admit that I tucked my sweats in them one day… I’m so fickle)

-Summit smiling at me. I didn’t know something so small could make my heart feel like it would burst. It makes me sad sometimes, inexplecibly, at the same time.

-headbands are stylish. Yes. I can put one on and do nothing else with my hair and it’s out of my way for the day.

-Good friends. I’ve been places where I didn’t have many and now my cup is overflowing with amazing, caring, Godly people in my life.

-getting paid to interact with and serve the amazing staff at NH.

-the priveledge of being an American. Go live somewhere else (besides Europe- try Ukranine) and even the haters will be thankful for the priveledge of being born into the richest 95% of the world and living here, flaws and all.

-music that makes my heart happy.

-a full nalgene of cool water.

-Dr. Pepper

-an amazing husband (and father) who works hard for us so I can stay home with Summit.

I have been having to list off my happy things recently, too. Maybe it’s the weather. Dustin says I’m a pessimist. Obviously, he’s the optimist. Obviously. Take the house for example. Optimist. Anyway. Happy lists are good. Happy lists keep you off medication. :)

I laugh because I remember when my kids were “little” they would say, when confronted with something less than fun, “I feel great, I feel fine, I feel this way all the time!” When we focus on the negative we become negative – when we focus on the positive we become positive. Thanks, also, for the comment on my blog. Your family is very special to us and we love you all dearly.
