Friday Funnies!

Embarrassment is…

-getting all dressed up for a very rare girls night out and realizing, once there, that the sexy brown heels that perfectly matched my dress are sitting at home and I am wearing my dirty house flip-flops.

-being super excited that I have 250 listeners on blip.fm. I feel so nerdily, amazingly thrilled.

-going out with single friends and then becoming the awkward, married date of the guy who lost out attention to the other one sitting with my friend, monopolizing her to the extent that I end up telling the poor other schmuck about my kid. Bless him, and he always acts so interested so I go on and on. Yeah. and the really sad thing is that this happens *every* time I go out with this friend.

-my child gagging loudly and lengthily for no explained reason during an interview with a talent agent when we wanted him on his best behavior. I mean, it was too the point that the lady was running to get something for him to puke in. Classy, Summit, really classy.

-eating with my best friend at a gourmet kitchen and not understanding anything the waiter was saying to me. Nodding and smiling like I did, I was flummoxed when he asked me a clarifying question to something I apparently answered to.

-trying to “be cool” when, at a drive through at chick-fil-a, the guy asked me if I rode bikes (I have a very nice bike rack on my outback) and nonchalantly saying, “yeah, I do” when it’s like once a month, then him asking what kind of bike I had- and I had no earthly idea. The word “Huffy” and “Cannon” came into my mind so strongly that I lamely say I didn’t know and awkwardly trailed off…. only to remember “Canondale” once I pulled away.

-The realization that most of my embarrassing moments involve eating food.

I think you're very cool, and I, at least, should make you feel much better about yourself with all my nocoolness. My funnies are NEVER funny at the time, by the way. It's always looking back.

    Thanks for sharing, friend.
