Easter! (Videos!)

Easter bunnies, candy filled eggs, sugar highs and the subsequent cranky crash, decorative baskets filled with fake shimmery grass… ah, the spirit of Easter!

Can you sense my sarcasm or do you really think that is what I think Easter is about? I think that I didn’t pay enough attention at church however, so that was sadly pretty much what my Easter was about. I should have put Summit in childcare but I wanted to have a “family” Easter celebration. Which was basically me sitting with a squirming Summit for half of it as Ben helped the men out front walk people too and from their cars in the miserable, cold rain with umbrellas. I was irritable that he didn’t really tell me that he wasn’t coming in right behind me after he dropped us off so I kept looking for him until he finally came in. He was soaked and then Summit decided that he needed to eat every snack I had packed for him and crawl around distracting anyone who wanted to hear the message. That was us, we were “those people” Sunday. Sigh. Some years are better than others, I think my soul praises God in the cold rain and harsh winds better than inside a building anyways. So, all that to say, here are some videos of the big day, enjoy Summit in his adorable suit!

… so Summit is totally walking around in these videos and I’m sure you were like, “what the heck Heidi, you totally didn’t tell me he was walking! where is the cute video that I have come to expect from you for all of Summit’s major milestones?” To which I reply back, “I’M WORKING ON IT! STOP PRESSURING ME!” and you are like, “Geez, calm down, I don’t really care that much, I was just teasing you.” To which I humbly respond, “Oh, sorry, I’ve just been under a lot of pressure lately, and besides, he’s not really walking walking, he will go from person to person but he won’t walk at ALL without major encouragement so I don’t know if technically I can actually say that he is walking.” At this point you don’t know what to say because, really, this is a totally hypothetical situation and I don’t have some clever quip for you to come back with.
