black eyes and busted lips

I fell of a wooden office chair last night and onto my face. My right shoulder seems hyper extended so somehow I slightly caught myself before plowing my face in the carpet. You know you’re in a bad spot when you fall on your face, wonder if your neck or nose is broken but feel your jaw and think whatever else is wrong with thank you GOD that doesn’t hurt. As it is, as I was laying there stunned but mainly thanking God my jaw wasn’t dislocated. I could taste blood in my mouth, but what the heck.

how stupid am I? Really?! a week after surgery getting up in slippery office chairs with socks on. As I was standing there I thought to myself “this is a really bad idea, I better get down” and down I went. just not the way that I intended. My upper lip is busted, it seems 3x it’s usual size and the middle of my forehead is badly scuffed and bruised. How did my nose escape?? Today at the Orthodontist the receptionist said that I had black eyes too. Hmmmm. I think that’s just the good old Cherokee dark circles under my eyes that I inherited from my full blooded great grandmother. who was married to a chief. I’m royalty.

I actually just realized that my bottom lip is busted too, just to a lesser extent.
