I have a plethora of things that I want to blog about…I even keep a little note pad handy so that I can write down ideas as they come to me.
With that being said: It’s baseball season and I cannot think of anything else!!
Football used to be my favorite sport, and while I am still a huge fan of the Minnesota Vikings and Jared Allen (keep your jabs to yourself) over the last couple of years, Northwest Arkansas has warmed my heart to “America’s Favorite Pastime”. . . Baseball!
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals (a minor league team and KC Royal affiliate) call Springdale, AR their home. If you have never been, you are missing out on a great experience! Check out the website to see all the promotions that they run…there isn’t a bad seat in the house. The kids and I love to sit along the first base line right behind the dugout and cheer on our favorite players!
Some of them have moved up and are playing in the big leagues now, but you can’t help but be happy for these guys that are living their dream!
Sunday’s the kids eat free, so they get a voucher for a hot dog, chips and a drink!
The players are very gracious and patient…even after a long game, they are more than willing to put their stuff down and sign autographs for the fans. (see picture below for ‘fans’, and featuring the baseball that Johnny Whittaker tossed Madsion from the field that was autographed by Yem Prades, Paulo Orlando and Mario Lisson!)
I would love to stick around and chat more baseball, but we are headed to the game tonight!
