Real Love Series: Sarea’s Story, Part 3

If you haven’t read the Introduction to this series, I recommend that you do. We are sharing Real Love stories. Stories that have hurt, pain but maturity and ultimately, JOY. In a culture that is so fast paced, self-focused and all about the falling in love part of our story with no concept of afterwards, we here at the Busy Nothings are striving to sit back and share from our own experiences what we feel true, pure, sacrificial love is. When you choose it even though it hurts or is hard work. The beauty, PASSION and true love that comes from this are better than any fairy tale. ~Heidi

PART THREE

By Dennis Clark (Sarea’s Dad)

Fast forward about 10- 12 years. I had recruited about 10 men to spend a Saturday morning together with extended quiet time.  We met and I realized some of the guys did not know each other.  In fact there was one guy there who I had not met.  Ben had invited a friend, Samuel and Samuel had invited his best friend Mr. B who neither Ben nor I knew.

I decided to get to know each other a little better we would go around the room and tell our name, where we worked and how we came to meet God in a personal way.  Each guy shared a brief testimony…Mr. B went last. He told how he had gone to church only sporadically growing up and was quite scientific and wanted someone to prove to him there was a God.  When he married, his wife requested they attend church which was OK with him…she was a catch worth an hour each week.  When they moved to NWA they began attending a very large church.  He said they had gone several weeks when one Sunday a man stood up and shared a story of how God had miraculously answered a prayer in his life.  When Mr. B heard the story, God moved his heart to believe!!  He accepted Christ that day as his personal Savior!!  By the time he finished the story (he had not used any names) it was dawning on me who he might be talking about.  I said to my son, Ben, “Do you know who Mr. B  is talking about?”  Ben did not have a clue…  I looked at Mr. B and said, “Was the man’s name Husband?”  He said “Yes!”  I said to him the little child God gave them was my first grandchild!

How awesome to meet Mr. B in my own living room!  I had heard someone had come to Christ as a result of the adoption, but I had no idea who it was or how it had happened.  NOW I KNEW!!

Me and Dad '12
Rea, (that is what my family calls me . .)

I think you have done a good job, I think it is very glorifying to God the way you have explained it and I fully expect God to use your story even more!!  Thanks for doing it.

Love,
Dad

P.S. I was just reviewing a verse I used to have above my college dorm room door so I could see it each time I left…

I Samuel 12:24  “ONLY FEAR THE LORD AND SERVE HIM FAITHFULLY WITH ALL YOUR HEART, FOR CONSIDER WHAT GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE FOR YOU.

Sarea here:  It honestly blows my mind each time I think of all the confirmation I received during the pregnancy that I was doing the right thing for me and that precious baby… My dad called me the day that he met Mr. B in his living room and said, “I don’t know what you have planned today, but I have someone that you might want to meet.”

I was at a place in my life where God seemed far from me, and I was lacking the luster my faith once had. I headed over and when I got in the door, this man shook my hand with tears in his eyes and said “Thank You”.  They then preceded to tell me what had happened that morning and also inform me that Mr. B was the proud Sunday School teacher of Miss J! (Then 9 years old).  I started crying.  God knew what I needed to hear.  This precious little baby was loved by so many people and had already touched many lives.  It was a blessing that day, that God allowed me a glimpse into the lives of others and further confirmed that good can come out of something seemingly bad.  Regrets?  I have none. (well about this situation at least!) 😉

Miss J will be 18 years old this August…I have not met her, but I pray for her and her family often.  I just know I did the right thing for both of us.

So there you have it . . .my story in full.  I hope I haven’t bored you, or gotten you too emotional…I just wanted to share.
