"For every high there is a low" (we’re off the charts baby!)

“for every too there is a fro, for every stop there is a go and that’s what makes the world go ’round!” The Sword in the Stone, my favorite Disney movie of all time. (other than the Little Mermaid). I hope I’m quoting it correctly in my title, I know the next part is for sure from that song. It’s amazing how much of my life I relate to through music. It’s like I have my own private little musical in my head, songs pulled from every stage of life, helping it make sense in the present. “Why does my heart… feel so bad” Moby. I swear, it wouldn’t surprise me if everyone around broke out in a broadway number with magical music appearing out of no where like it does on movies.

I’m trying to decide what/how much to share on here. It’s a public blog and I got a random e-mail from some Indian guy saying he liked my blog and how would I like a slideshow for it?

Summit had his 9 month check up yesterday (he’ll be 10 months old in a week) and although it was mostly positive, it’s always the negative that predominatly stands out. He hasn’t gained any weight in almost 6 weeks, which may be due to his being sick last week. Which means… he’s off the chart!!!! ummm. well, below the chart in weight/height for his age. :) I’m not that concerned about that acutally, one of my mom’s friends said “Well, someone has to be in the bottom 5%” and that made me laugh. The other stuff that was said I don’t think I’m going to write about, it’s mostly speculation at this point and I don’t want to be a drama queen. If you’d like to know details, you can e-mail me and I don’t mind talking about it. Just continue to pray for a miracle in his eye, and that his body will grow and he’ll start making the developmental milestones that are oh-so-important.

    1. I will be praying for Summit..

    2. You are not a drama queen (for the most part… hehe)

    3. God is good, it’s like my blog that I posted recently… we often try and make sense of everything and fit God into boxes that we can understand.. God just doesn’t work like that… Someway, Somehow, God can be completely good and loving toward us even though he allows us to go through hard times…

    sorry for the sermonette

Hockety Pockety! At the beginning of your blog I knew immediately that it was the song from Sword in the Stone when they were fishes. That was my favorite movie growing up!

I will be praying for Summit and sending good thoughts your way.

Don’t worry about it, both Apollos and I were like 80% for the first few months, then we quit growing (I did, he will.) I was the smallest kid in Kindergarten through 7th grade when a girl beat me.

And look at the winner I turned out to be!!!

    Heidi,

I’m finally making an appearance on your blog and leaving a comment. sorry it’s taken me so long. I’m so relieved to hear about Summit’s eye. Praise Him! Will continue to lift you guys up. Also, Little Mermaid was my totally favorite movie growing up until I watched it with Anna awhile ago . . . and was like “whoa. this is more evil than I remember when I was a little girl. I just thought she was pretty and could really sing!”

  • Sarah

I’m glad to know that other people are really living out musicals too. Those are awesome cartoons. We should have a sing a long sometime. I just can’t ever watch Snow White with you. It still scares me. Come to think of it, I think I still cover my eyes at the scary parts in Sleeping Beauty too.
Seriously though, I’ll continue to pray for Summit. I honestly can’t believe he’s not on the charts. He doesn’t look little for his size at all.

  • Amanda

Hey Heidi. I’d just like you to know that Deuce is, and has been in the lower 10% or less since birth. Size isn’t the most important thing! 😉
