A Day in the Life…Part Two

If you would like to read the first part, you can go to A Day in the Life…Part One.

When I wrote the first part, I used real names…however after re-thinking it (and being threatened by some Jr. High friends) LOL  I have decided to only use initials when talking about people. If it is a male, I will use to capital letters (S.C.).  If it is a female I am referring to, I will use two letters for the first name (Sa.C.).  We left off towards the end of 1989, with the holidays and my birthday looming in the future…We will pick up there: (I will still be commenting present day in bold as I did previously.)

January 9th, 1990

Well, a lot has happened, I like A.K. and I cannot stand B.W.!  He just makes me ill!  I also like C.P. a little, but not a lot, but I am doing fine! (As I mentioned in the first post, I might have been a tad bit boy crazy!  Again, stay tuned as this changes so often I feel sorry for my past self.)

Tonight the varsity boys basketball team lost to Bethesda and the Pistons beat the Bulls 100-90!

A.K. and I walked around the school a couple of times and we had a good long talk!

I can’t wait for quizzing on Saturday, it is going to be great.  I know all my material, so I am pretty confident.

A.K. used to like Re.L., but not anymore! Di.P. likes A.K. so I feel sorta mean taking him! Oh well. (I sound all torn up about it don’t I?  Plus, I felt mean ‘taking’ him?  I have always thought he jacked with my head all those years…hmmm.)

I better go,  Love,

Sarea Clark (and yes, every entry is signed Sarea Clark…as not to get confused with Sarea ??? or maybe just in case someone else decided to write in my journal and pretend it was me…)

P.S.  My birthday is 21 days away!

P.S.S. I don’t hate J.A. anymore either!  He was talking to Be.N. and said I was the awesome type of girl…someone who loved sports and was real athletic! That was encouraging! (Are you FREAKIN’ kidding me?  I only hated people if they didn’t like me, and then liked them if they liked me? I am seriously screaming out for therapy in this journal!)

January 14th, 1990

The Shine On is next Sunday, I made a mistake.  Ta.K. really likes J.A. I just hope he likes her back!  She deserves him, they are both so cute! (I am not entirely sure that both of them being ‘cute’ should equal her deserving him, or even be a qualification for a couple, just to clarify!)

I’ve come to a conclusion, I will try to be like Ta.K. and be outgoing and stick with trying to like one or two people at a time!  So, I like J.K. an A.K.! That’s it, no one else. (Let’s not put too much pressure on myself…let’s just say for TODAY!)  I will try to get J.K.’s phone number or address and I will write him!

I can’t help it, I’m too shy!  I wish I could be more outspoken like Ta.K.  Oh well, I am who I am and I guess no one is going to change that!

I better go, Love,

Sarea Clark

P.S. My B-day is in 16 days!

January 30th, 1990

Today was great!  I get to school and Da.C. and Ta.K. have decorated my locker! Then, Je.C. got me a bag of those conversational hearts and a Hardy Boy Book!  (I still have all of my Hardy Boy Books!  I love them!)

I went to the 7th and 8th grade basketball game and we won by 3 points! (The two grades had to play together because each class had less than 15 kids in it, including the girls! Here is a photo of my class from 89-90)

Macomb Christian Schools 89-90

After that, Re.L., Be.W., Mrs. B., Mrs. M., and S.B. all took me to More Than Ice Cream to celebrate my B-day!  It was fun.  Re.L. got me two pair of earrings.  Mom and Dad got me a photo album and two pair of earrings, and Harmony gave me $5.00!  It was a great birthday!

Love,

Sarea Clark

P.S.  I will be driving next year!

P.S.S. I don’t like J.K. or C.P…just A.K.!

Here is a close up picture of me circa 1990…quite an improvement over 1989 don’t you think?  I never let my mom perm my hair again after that!

Three more entries and then the first journal is finished…

February 10th, 1990

Today was the best.  First, for quizzing, I needed 60 points to go to Chicago!  Well in the first quiz, I did nothing.  For the second quiz, I had two errors and Be.W. and Re.L. were in the first two chairs.  It was the 15th question…I jumped and I got it right! Yes!! I got 60 points, and positioned our team!  In the last quiz, I got one question.  I was so happy I cried! (Don’t make fun, going to Chicago was a HUGE deal in Bible Quizzing!  It was were all the cool kids went. Totally worth shedding tears of happiness…I’m getting choked up now just thinking about it! Ha ha ha.)

Anyway, Ta.K. needed 60 points and so did Da.C.  Ta.K. got her last points needed in her last quiz on the 15th question too!  J.A. answered question number 14 which sent him to Chicago too!  Da.C. errored out, so she didn’t get her 60 points. I hope she still goes! (She did, and it was great!)

THEN THE BANQUET!

(This was in lieu of a Valentines Banquet that the public schools would have.  Very G rated and nothing much to speak of, but it was a big deal for me as this was technically my first date at age 15.  Don’t tell my daughter as I have told her she will not date until she is at least 16!  I have a picture of us somewhere standing by my front door.  A.K. was in a suit and tie while I was sporting a purple dress with little black velvet polka dots all over it)

UPDATE:  I found the photo!

The Banquet

This was fun, first, A.K. came and picked me up (actually his dad drove) and my mom had to take pictures.  We got into the van and Mr. K. started a conversations about something really stupid! (If I remember correctly, it was something about how much metal in the car industry, if melted would wrap around the earth how many times and have a width of so many centimeters….Seriously, we used to joke about it all the time, Mr. K. was a genius, still is, and can tell you things that will blow your mind, but I had OTHER things on my mind.)  Anyway, we got there and Je.C. was there already.  Di.E. was there with this kid named Ben, he was cute!  So, we all sat at the same table. Ben and I had a lot in common, so we were talking.  I felt bad, I tried to get A.K. into the conversation, but I guess he really didn’t mind.  Then, after we ate, we played the dating game.  Pa.W. got M.W. and J.?. got Am.S, I think that was planned.  Anyway, A.K. and I had a good time I think!  He was so gorgeous, I loved him. I was proud to be his ‘date’!

So, it wasn’t supposed to be over until 11 pm, but at 9:30 pm we started the Best Friends game.  Je.C. and I got picked.  We came in 3rd…I don’t talk to her about my Grandma’s!!! (I remember the questions being ridiculous and also being fairly upset as I was competitive!)  Anyway, Mr. P. prayed at 10 pm, so we were out an hour early! Everyone was going out, so I called my mom and A.K., Da.C. and Ta.K. all came over to watch a movie.  We had pizza, pop and popcorn.

Love,

Sarea Clark

P.S.  Dad came home tonight. (I have NO idea where he was at the time)

February 20th, 1990

Today was our first day skiing. (I believe that we headed north somewhere, but I don’t remember exactly.) I thought it was going to be terrible, but it wasn’t, it was great.  I loved it. There were a lot of guys snowboarding (They were pretty good looking, but A.K. is my Holy Hunk H.H.)  Skiing wasn’t that bad, I was only on the bunny hill for about a half an hour…not bad! It was fun and we might go tomorrow!

Love,

Sarea Clark

P.S.  Ben tried snowboarding..how funny! (I do have a picture of our family on this trip…we fell down a lot and one kid on a snowboard ran into a building…We laughed SO hard. Poor kid!)

Falling down while skiing

P.S.S. I met this kids named Fred who was about 8 years old on the ski lift. I don’t think he was a Christian, but I am going to pray for him! (I have thought about this kid several times over the years.  They had 5 people in their family too, so we were both the odd kids out and sat together on the lift.  He was funny and made me laugh several times…wish I would have found out his last name and could look him up now…)

Last one for today…

March 5th, 1990

Today we broke up. I knew it was going to happen.  I still love him and we are still friends.  (What? That’s it? No weeping? No analyzing my thoughts and feelings?  What the heck is this journal for anyway?  Geez…I’m so disappointed in myself right now…we want INFORMATION!)

My team for Chicago is: P.M., M.G., Re.L. and me.  Our coaches are Mrs. B. and Mrs. M. I hope we do good!  (You will have to wait for the next installment to find out how we did, and how amazing Chicago was!)

I better go, it’s late, Love

Sarea Clark

P.S. Gordon stayed until 11 pm tonight after Bible Study, he is really funny! (This became a regular occurrence after the singles Bible Study at my parents house…We would be in tears some nights we laughed so hard!)
